Which Pickleball Paddle to get: The Journey to Picking my Paddle for 2025 under $200

Updated: Feb 16

The first step in beginning your pickleball journey once you are done borrowing your friends wooden paddles is to get your own.

In your first year of pickleball I think getting your budget paddle for under $100 is totally fine. I started off with a 2 set with 3 pickleballs for $110 Canadian that lasted me a year. You can also get sometime similar from costo like the Selkirk Prime.

demoing my paddles from Vancouver store rackets and runners

After weeks of demoing paddles like the six zero double black diamond, CRBN, Bread & Butter Filth there was one non flashy paddle that felt the best overall. It was the Vatic Pro PRISM flash. As a former tennis player I have a big swing for a pickleball player and I hit lots of topspin and slices. I found the Vatic pro gave me noticeable extra spin on my serves and strokes compared to my older paddles. It also gives a satisfying sounds and feel when striking the ball. It was a bonus when I realized that this was considered the budget paddle. I like this paddle so much I've signed up as an ambassador for this paddle and if you decide to purchase with my link I appreciate the support. In a lot of the videos you will notice I'm using this paddle.

Whatever paddle you select I recommend you take your time to demo a variety of paddles. It is cheap to demo them and it's fun to try a variety of different ones. Good luck on your journey.
